IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER YEARLY UPDATE. HEE HEE

Well everybody life has been crazy in the Cowley/Brock households.

Josh's brother and sister-in-law had their 4th and final baby. She had some very serious complications so they took her baby making machine out. She is OK with it. He was 6lbs 2 oz. Cute baby. After her 3 1/2 month bed rest and 1 month and 1 week in the hospital they finally got to home to Idaho.

During her final week in the hospital I got a call from Josh telling me that my step dad was in the hospital with sever chest pains. After 8 days and 4 stints he is out and feeling OK but very weak.

One day after Howard got out of the hospital Troy my 15 year old (David Beckham) soccer nephew got hit hard during one of his soccer games, fell onto his back and was temporarily paralyzed with what they call a spinal concussion. He was life flighted to the hospital in Texas where he spent 4 long days. He is doing well yet recovering.

And the last and final trial we had this month was my little 97 year old grandpa died. He was so cute and confused. It was a blessing because as he said to me last time we spoke "Don't get old! It isn't a very fun time of your life." So I am so happy to know he is partying it up with the rest of my family that have already arrived in that place we Mormon's call "paradise." His funeral is on wed. the 14th of November so we are taking a trip to California.

I almost had one more trial to deal with. The only reason I am bringing it up is because I think it is kind of an amazing cool story to tell. And it is only amazing and cool because it ended up OK. If it had not it would have been a tragedy. One of my climbing partners is a also skydives. She was doing her last jump of the day and everything was going well. They started their free fall at 13,000 ft. That equates to about a 60 second free fall and a 5-10 minute float down. As she reached her deploying altitude she pulled her rip chord.er shoot opened fine except a couple of twists in the lines that weren't a huge concern to her. She had seen them happen before. She said what happened next is still a huge question in her mind. The canopy started to do a downward angled flat spin. Which causes a lot of G force and disorientation. She knew she couldn't recover the flat spin and that she would have to "cut away" a term meaning detach the original shoot. She would then go back into free fall and have to deploy the reserve shoot. As she was trying to cut away she found the force almost too strong to actually detach the shoot. She finally got it to release then she went back into free fall. It is something you have to anticipate. Back in free fall she panicked because the sweat shirt she wore was in the way of finding the rip cord release for the reserve shoot. Now her altimeter gauge is giving it's audible alarm telling her she is in the "you must pull now" zone. In skydiving you usually pull between 7,000-5,000 ft. She found the cord, finally, but the G force and her body position were hard enough that she was now having a hard time actually having enough force to pull. She said she remembers thinking "if you don't pull this now you are dying in 3 seconds." She said she pulled one last time and her reserve came out. It came out with such force it tore the muscle fibers in her chest. She pulled the shoot at 1,000 ft. and had 700 hundred feet left to float down to the ground. She spent the next 3 hours crying.

It's interesting the things we do. I took her husband, who by the way is a skydiving instructor, rock climbing. He told me that rock climbing is a crazy mans sport. He told me I needed to start skydiving. He believes it is much safer. He told me I was crazy to be so in love with the sport. But I love it so much. Any time anyone wants to go or learn let me know.

all in all we have been good. We had a fun Halloween. We went to a party of one of my favorite friends Ryan Cannon. We danced and had a great time. We also helped Brandon and Melanie Lake with a family Halloween party. We all dressed up as celebrates. Josh and i were the Red Carpet interviewers. It was fun.

Work is going well.Josh is helping people with the stress of buying and selling homes. He is really good at what he does. So if any of you need help or have any questions let us know. We are more than willing to help out friends or friends of friends.

As for me and work I still do random stuff that is not all that interesting. If you really want to know you have to call me. I like talking more than blogging. I blog strictly for Julia. Love you jul's.
